Belfast Champion
 

This award honours the Belfast Champion of the Year. The award will recognise the person living and/or working in Belfast who is deemed to have made the most significant contribution to improving the quality of life of those living in city. The individual may be someone who has made a tangible difference through their work in the public sector, voluntary and community sectors, or through their work with a private sector organisation.

Anyone can nominate an individual and should have their consent to do so.

Details of the nominee, the project they are involved in, how this has benefited those living in Belfast and why they should be the 2008 Belfast Champion should be outlined on no more than 2 A4 sheets.

In making their decision, the judges will consider:

  • The project the nominee is involved in and the level of impact on those living in Belfast
  • How the individual has demonstrated leadership and vision and inspired those he/she works with in order to make Belfast a better place for those living there
  • The altruistic nature of the project and its benefits to the community
