The call for entries for this year's Belfast City Centre Management, Belfast Chamber of Trade and Commerce Belfast Awards was held on Thursday 26th June heralding another search for top companies in Belfast. The prestigious Belfast Gala Awards ceremony will take place in the Waterfront Hall, Belfast on the 13th November 2008. The host for the evening will be BBC's journalist and presenter of the politics show Northern Ireland, Jim Fitzpatrick and BBC’s Newsline presenter Sarah Travers.

The Belfast Awards are an exciting event where the city has the chance to showcase its brightest and best. Following the success of other years, we look forward to another great night where sharp ideas and successful businesses are recognized and rewarded.

There are a total of 18 awards categories, ranging from the legacy to Belfast Award to Environmental Excellence, and from Best New Start Business to the Best Restaurant. The competition is open to businesses from right across the City Council area - not just within the City Centre. The awards will showcase the very best of Belfast talent, entrepreneurship, best practice and teamwork. Winning one of the prestigious awards is only part of the process. The Awards provide Belfast businesses with a bench mark of quality and provide an opportunity to examine how customers view them and how they measure up against the competition.
